Free Comic Book Day kicked off May 4, 2013, as it does every first Saturday of May. 4 Color Fantasy has managed to continue to spend every year stepping it up a notch with so much more to offer customers. This shop does Free Comic Book Day like no other! As the owners have celebrated Free Comic Book Day with their faithful customers since 2006, it has now been 8 years of excitement filling the block at 7172 Archibald Avenue in Rancho Cucamonga.
This family friendly environment featured events that included: Wookie Calling Contest, Zombie Maze, Cosplay Costume Contest, and the 2nd Annual Blood Drive with Life Share. Prizes were donated by The Finest – A G.I. Joe Costume Club to motivate people for this year’s blood drive which led to the contribution of 84 donors.
Guests were greeted with free food and free fun which 4 Color Fantasy is always known to provide! The first 100 guests were graced with “May the Forth be with You” patches and other special gifts for arriving early. The bounce house never stopped rocking as the book mobile was a safe haven from the fearsome zombies that wandered through the Zombie Maze. Free autographs from comic creators and free drawings from artists (and some that do it for fun) drew guests in even further, to the main entrance where customers could pick up their official Free Comic Book Day comics. Hundreds of customer’s line up to see what’s new as guests come pouring into the venue up to the very last minute every year.
Here are just a few photographs of the experience, featuring artists, writers, special guests and patrons alike:
